Oil signs a contract to implement a floating gas platform with the American company Accelerate.

Today, Tuesday (October 28, 2025), the Ministry of Oil signed a contract to implement the floating gas platform with the American company Accelerate.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a brief statement received by Baghdad Today that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is sponsoring the signing ceremony of the Ministry of Oil's contract to implement the floating gas platform with the American company Excelerate."
This step comes as part of the Iraqi government's strategy to develop and optimally invest in the gas sector, with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in natural gas and reducing dependence on foreign imports, particularly from Iran.
